Mylz started his Hip Hop career way back in 1995, as an MC with Assisted Killings, releasing a 6 track EP in 1996 with MC Damaj & Kobi-1. It was then that he got his first chance to get his vinyl onto some Technics, thanks to the crews DJ – ‘Hocus Pocus’, and he never looked back.

Mylz has been DJing in clubs since 1996, taking influence from UK crews including Gunshot, Brotherhood, Silver Bullet & Hijack, as well as Hip Hop from around the world, and other styles including funk, soul, drum and bass, reggae and rock.

In 2001, he set up the event, Heducation, which grew to be the biggest and most successful Hip Hop event in the Midlands, playing host to live UK acts including Roots Manuva, Rodney P & Skitz, Stig & Dr Syntax, as well as running the Aspects ‘Mystery Theatre’ UK tour in 2004, and hosting other live acts including Public Enemy, Sugarhill Gang, KRS One & Gza (Wu Tang Clan).

Heducation received a Nightlife Award from What’s On magazine and has ran stages at festivals across Europe including Snowbombing, Beachbombing & Soundwave. Mylz was also a finalist in the BBC Urban Talent Awards.

This series of three Urban Vault mixes represents Mylz’s 20 year love affair with UK rap, and includes tracks from the early 90’s right up to today, covering the full range of music styles, from laid-back and mellow, to upfront banger's!
